FTL SERVICES
— QATAR, OMAN & GCC
When your cargo fills a truck, it deserves a truck to itself. Alfaline's FTL service delivers your full load directly — fast, secure, and without compromise.
What is FTL and when is it the right choice for your cargo?
FTL stands for Full Truckload — a freight solution where a single client’s cargo occupies an entire truck. Unlike consolidation (LCL), where multiple shippers share space, FTL gives your goods exclusive use of the vehicle from the collection point to the delivery destination. This means no intermediate stops, no cargo mixing, and no wait for other shipments to fill the truck before departure.
FTL is the right choice when your cargo volume is large enough to fill most or all of a standard truck; when your delivery is time-sensitive and requires a direct route; or when your cargo type—for safety, regulatory, or handling reasons—should not share space with other goods.
What FTL vehicle types does Alfaline operate?
Alfaline operates a diverse fleet of road freight vehicles suited to different cargo types and route requirements:
- Standard Curtainsider Trailers: For general commercial cargo, palletised goods, and retail products
- Sealed Box Trucks: For cargo requiring full weather and security protection
- Flatbed Trailers: For construction materials, steel, industrial equipment, and oversized loads
- Refrigerated Trucks (Reefer): Temperature-controlled vehicles for fresh food, dairy, pharmaceuticals, and other perishable goods
- Low-Loader / Step-Deck Trailers: For heavy plant, machinery, and project cargo with height constraints
Which GCC routes does Alfaline serve with FTL services?
Our FTL network connects Qatar and the UAE to all key GCC destinations:
- Qatar ↔ Saudi Arabia: Direct FTL via the Abu Samra crossing to Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and other KSA cities
- Qatar ↔ Oman: FTL to Muscat, Sohar, Salalah, and other Omani destinations via established cross-border routes
- Dubai (UAE) ↔ Qatar: Coordinated through our Alfaroute Dubai office for seamless UAE-Qatar FTL operations
- Qatar ↔ Kuwait & Bahrain: FTL on request with agreed scheduling and documentation support
What are the advantages of choosing FTL over consolidation for GCC shipments?
FTL offers several distinct advantages over shared-load services:
- Speed: Direct, non-stop routing from collection to delivery — no waiting for other cargo, no intermediate drops.
- Security: Your cargo is the only load on the vehicle, reducing the risk of damage, contamination, or mix-up.
- Flexibility: Departure timing is set around your schedule, not a shared departure calendar.
- Accountability: A single dedicated vehicle makes tracking, responsibility, and handover straightforward.
- Suitability: FTL is the only viable option for certain cargo types that cannot legally or safely share space with other goods.
How does Alfaline manage FTL shipments across GCC borders?
Our operations team handles all the coordination required for cross-border FTL transport: route planning, vehicle assignment, driver briefing, border documentation preparation (including customs declarations, certificates of origin, and any required cargo permits), and active monitoring during transit. Our drivers are experienced in GCC cross-border procedures, and our team is reachable throughout the journey to resolve any issues that arise at border crossings or in transit.
How is FTL pricing calculated?
FTL pricing is based primarily on the origin-destination route, the vehicle type required, and the weight and nature of the cargo. Additional factors include fuel costs, border crossing fees, driver accommodation on long-haul routes, and any specialist handling or permit requirements. Alfaline provides clear, fixed-price FTL quotes so you have full cost certainty before confirming your booking.
